Adelaide Convention & Exhibition Centre
The Venue
The main Plenary Hall of the Adelaide Convention and Exhibition Centre is the centrepiece of innovation and flexibility for this recently redeveloped venue.
Our Scope
Setting Line’s Principal, Craig Gamble, worked on the design and specification of the seating systems, rigging, lighting, sound and AV systems for the building with MDE. Following from this, Craig Gamble was engaged by the installation contractor, Harris Movement Engineering, to lead the development of integrated systems and operational manuals for the complex seating systems changeover.
With over 1500 seats (of a total capacity of 3500) on hinged leaves weighing a total of 240 tonne suspended over the flat floor event space this was a complex arrangement with multiple safety systems and processes.
As with our work on the original designs we worked closely with the contractors and the convention centre's operational team to resolve the significant challenges posed by this innovative design.
